About 3 weeks ago, I was feeling rather glum. My typical, SAD-induced January blahs. Specifically I thought my performing career options were bleak.
Then, I stopped and actually looked at my calendar. Guess what? I have had more auditions this year then I had ALL last year. Okay, 2021 was a pandemic mess, as was 2020. So I looked back at 2019. More auditions in the first 6 weeks of 2022 than in 2019. My energy changed from "nothing happening" to "around the corner".
This small exercise reminded me of how much the stories I tell myself can get in my way. I've actively returned to transforming the story in my head to the open, positive, creative one that was so dominant in 2021.
