The title of this post sums up my life for the past 3 months. I've been raising my voice since mid-April, appearing in Sister Act, first at the Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach, Florida and now at the Walnut St. Theatre in Philadelphia.
Check out the Walnut production:
At the same time, I directed Miss Nelson Has A Field Day for the Kids' Series, also at Walnut. I have performed Miss Nelson/Viola Swamp three times previously at the Nut, but this was my first time directing. Collaborating with a fine production team and cast, the show was a big hit. We are all particularly proud that this production was chosen to be the first sensory-friendly performance in the city of Philadelphia. There was no doubt in my mind that art has the power to transform lives as I watched kids on the autism spectrum engage in a performance designed specifically for them last Wednesday morning.
